PBS flag vote - Fifita

LS2 were learning to analyse[read and interpret data]. The whole PBS students voted on which flag should NZ keep. It was very interesting to see who would want to keep the current flag and who would like to change the current flag. The student leaders and the principle Mr Johnston added up all the votes, more students in the juniors voted for the new flag to represent our country NZ.

LI: To make an informed choice.

Today LS2 were learning how to make an informed choice. We were talking about which flag would be the best for our country. Before we voted we got into thinking groups. We had to draw a t-chart and we had to write reasons why we should change the flag and why not. My group wrote we should change the flag because it is familiar to the Australian flag. Then we had to write a reason we should not change the flag. My group didn't like to change the flag because it will cost a lot and we could use that money to build houses in Christchurch and to feed kids that are hungry. After that we had to tell Mrs Anderson what we wrote on our sheet of paper. It was very interesting hearing all the other answers.

Can you make ten?

We were learning to practice making ten then adding this is one of the activity's that I was doing. I really enjoyed it.

It was a cold winter morning when a group of boys and girls were running towards the trees to hide for safety. While the  boy was running  he turned around looking very worried, then he carried on running. As the kids were running there was a group of girls that were chattering to each other.

“Come with us”, we yelled as we ran past.

Kayak Trip-Writing-Fifita

Kayak Trip

As the kayak was arriving James and Jake were excited to see the kayak on top of the car.  They were ready to take the wonderful kayak off the top of the white car and go for a paddle. Jake and James took it down to the water Tina and Davinia were ready to go in the wonderful kayak too.       

Tina and Davinia were in and finally started kayaking. While they were kayaking James and Jake were putting the tent up. Finally the tent was up and done. The fire started and it was burning. Finally Tina and Davinia were kayaking back to shore. 

While they were kayaking back James was getting the marshmallow and the yummy biscuits. Finally Tina and Davinia were back. James and Jake were telling Tina and Davinia how long it took to put the tent up and how long it took to do the fire. Finally they had their marshmallow and biscuits. They were very happy even though Jake and James did not get to go kayaking. Tina and Davinia had so much fun even James and Jake enjoyed the trip.

This is my reading DLO, I found interesting that I can express my feeling by making sentences that use 4 different describing words. I found interesting that Miss Griffin had different feeling to the rest of the others.
