Duffy assembly

Today we had our first Duffy assembly. We had visitors come to school. Our visitors were Katherine, Madison, Felipe, Bo, and Donna. They came to our school Duffy assembly. Katherine, Madison, and Felipe are opera singers. They sang to us and it sounded interesting. I would like to thank the Katherine, Madison, Felipe, Bo, and Donna for coming to Panmure Bridge School.

Kokako infographic

For camp we went to the kokako lodge and now Im going to be showing you a infographic about the kokako bird. A infographic has four parts to it. Diet, habitat, predators, and appearance. Also I have put down three facts about the kokako bird. One fact is to protect their territories kokako birds sing.

Mince and cheese filling

Today for tech we made mince and cheese filling for our pie. In order to make our filling we need these ingredients mince, soya sauce, water, corn flower, beef stock, onion, and oil. First you need to dice up you onion. Next you need to get 200ml of hot water and tip it into our half a cup of corn flour and mix it together. After that get another 200ml of hot water and get beef stock and mix it together in that you should add soya sauce. When you have mixed everything together get your pan and measure 1 tablespoon of oil into your pan. Place your diced up onions into your pan and fry them for a couple of seconds then add your mince into the pan. Now mix them all together now add little by little of your beef stock. Now there is only little bit of beef stock then you tip it all into the pan and carry on mixing it together. With you corn flour water add tiny spoons into your pan to make it more thicker. Now were done using the beef stock and the corn flour water. Turn the oven off and tip the filling into a container until you make your pastry for the pie. I can´t wait till next week.

Camp group collage

This week my group created a camp collage. This collage shows what my group have been doing. Working as a team make things much more easier.

Tennis and futsal

We were lucky enough to go down to Riverside sports to play tennis and futsal. We have been learning about futsal for quite a bit time but have never played tennis. Nevile was our instructor for tennis. He is very experienced because he has been teaching in America. We learnt to easy words. "Hit and bounce" In Futsal we just had a full on game. For futsal my group won both games. I was really happy but well done to everyone. Thank you Martin and Nevile.

Scary flying kiwi...

As I sprinted up and down the slippery, rocky hill my heart beat faster than a cheetah. Aaaah! It’s my turn. I ran to the instructor, put on my harness and tightened it up. I checked my harness if it was stable more than 100 times.
"Kiwi are you ready?"
"YES I AM!"
I shut my eyes and prayed, that’s how frightened I was!

I was dragged up into the air like a plane taking off. I screamed at the top of my lungs. WOW! I was flying just like a bird. I did some bird positions. As Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson came, they asked me to sing Rattlin Bog while I was up in the air. I started singing. I had two goes because they said I didn’t look that happy the first time. But on my second go I became more happy.

At the end of the day I was exhausted. I really had fun with the flying kiwi. I wanted to go for a sleep but we needed to do more things. Camp was really enjoyable. I honestly want to go back.

Last week the year 7's and 8's went on camp to Kokako Lodge. This recount is about the flying kiwi. The flying kiwi was really scary that is why my title is the scary flying kiwi. I hope you enjoyed reading my recount. This was a 5 minute recount about my favourite thing that I did.
